Burgers, Dragons, and Unions [Sundae #145]

Hi ,Thank you for those who reached out last week after my break-in attempt! I'm doing great, and fortunately this past week was nowhere near as intense as the previous. How about you, what's been happening in your life? I'm back at a fairly regular schedule of reaching out to people in the marketing and communications industry in Paris, looking for new freelance strategy gigs (primarily in Paris, but I can move around and/or work remotely if ever you need anything).I keep catching up with old friends and acquaintances I haven't seen in 15-20 years in some cases and it's great to be connected with people and find out what they've been up to all those years. That led to my being invited to the Whisky Live Paris event yesterday, a friend of mine had an extra VIP ticket, so I tried many rare and special whisky vintages of all kinds, and many distilleries I'd never tried before. Long story short, I'll blame that on my writing this a little late today.Let's get on with it!CheersWillem

Because of all this, I was sad to hear about the potential actions from the leadership of Kickstarter to bust initiatives from their employees to unionize. Gaming companies have been waiting to see how things pan out before deciding whether they want to continue working with the platform. The CEO came and publicly said they wouldn't voluntarily recognize a union, so now the employees went ahead and publicly asked. This is also a big deal because it would be the first major tech company to unionize, and seeing these news, I wonder if other tech companies discouraged employees from unionizing. Meanwhile, one creator took the opportunity to launch a roleplaying game about workers unionizing, because of course why not. I'm curious to see how things turn out and I wouldn't be surprised if more news about tech companies and unions or lack thereof start popping up.
