Enlightenment & deception (or not?) [Ice Cream Sundae]

Hi ,Happy Easter from the Vail valley! I've been skiing in Vail and by the time you receive this I'll be skiing in Breckenridge! Easter Sunday will mark my 24th and last ski day of the season, I was aiming for 20-25 at the beginning so I got there! One of my apps indicate I've skied over 280,000 vertical feet and that doesn't even cover all the days I've skied; that's over 85km of downhill and go figure how many in horizontal (lots!)It's beautiful and great to be out all day, but the snow is pretty icy and tough. I'd chuckled when a colleague sent me this skiing exoskeleton tech video but now I've been skiing on that tough snow and feeling it on my knees it suddenly sounds like a potentially good idea!I hope you're having a fabulous Easter weekend, on to a couple of interesting stories I've read this week.CheersWillem

Weekly Combo Two or three flavours, interesting separately, fascinating together

Practicing for Enlightenment with Video Games (The Atlantic, 9 min read)With the US release of the film adaptation of Ready Player One (I haven't seen the film yet but definitely recommend the novel) all about video games and pop culture nostalgia (at least it sounds like Spielberg went heavy on that side of things in the adaptation, from what I hear), this is an interesting counter point. The author dives into a video gaming subculture taking the practice of classic fighting games like Street Fighter like martial arts, with a holistic perspective on mind, body, soul - or something like that in any case. The Sadist's Revenge (Esquire, 26 min read)
