Best of the past week
Hey , Happy Easter! This is kind of silly, though I actually hadn't thought about the fact it was Easter coming up when I wrote last week's Sundae about chicken! That said it makes it silly simple for this week's theme. As I believe I mentioned last week, I'm not sure I'll keep having a weekly theme but in the meantime this one is all about eggs.Like many other kids I used to have - and still have - quite significant conversations inquiring into what came first, chicken or egg? As a child, my genius answer was the farmer. The farmer came first. To this day, I'm still that much as a smart-ass.Ironically enough I could also turn towards Lucky Peach Magazine (of last week's Kung Fu Chicken article) who have fortuitously just published a food book called All About Eggs. Here is an interesting article with the author of the book, Rachel Khong:Meet the Author who took a long night's journey into eggsLucky Peach also published an excerpt about all the varieties of eggs and some of their properties, quite interesting too.

This is 20 minutes long and completely worth it. It's a documentary an egg sculpting artist in China, sharing his passion and craft. It's just impressively intricate and his creations are simply beautiful.Egg Sculpture

What's sticky in the communications industry?
One of the recent ads being shared around feature the biggest fowl producing the biggest eggs in the world. Of course, the ostrich. Samsung features the usually flightless bird in their latest advert for their virtual reality headset.Samsung: OstrichI have another one I'd like to share this week, a cute ad exploring the origins of this strange hare laying eggs for Easter, where does he come from? Additionally, this article about brands using "Easter eggs", cute secret things, elements for people in the know, as it were, reminded me of a session about the use of such strategies and secrets in marketing communications. In-N-Out Burger are famous for having "secret" menu items like the "Animal style fries and burgers" for example, that come with extra sauce and onions.Easter Egg Marketing: How Snapchat, Apple, and Google hook you

What's going on in gaming?
A couple of years ago, the Oliver Twins who created this series of games released a free online game after finding a game in the series that had never been released,
. The video announcement and the project to document their careers in the article are pretty interesting:

What else is interesting this week?
We complete this week with the fascinating story of the lost 7 Fabergé Easter Eggs. I didn't really know much about where Fabergé eggs were from and while I guess it's a story that comes back regularly for Easter topics, I hadn't read about it yet, so in case you haven't either now might be a good time.Where are the Romanoff's missing Fabergé Easter Eggs? That's it for this week, enjoy Easter weekend - it seems to be a sunny one in Chicago so I'll go and enjoy it! Remember to please forward and share the email with friends if you enjoy it! Cheers,Willem
